I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing,
I was sick and you took care of me…
(Matthew 25: 35-36)
Poverty rates are increasing in Minnesota, which is accompanied by increased affordable housing issues, food insecurity and unemployment.
What is mission project 2012?
For the next year, faith communities in the Episcopal Church of Minnesota will work together with Episcopal Community Services to help alleviate poverty in Minnesota.
What will we be doing?
- Building at least two houses – if not more - through the successful EpiscoBuilders model
- Coordinating a “Night Without Hunger” in each faith community on March 14
- Collecting items for the “Ready for Success” program sponsored by Episcopal Community Services
When will this happen?
From now until October 2012 with a special emphasis on Lent, February 22 – April 8
